Rosie Debens - Counsellor and Founder

Hi, I'm Rosie. I'm a qualified counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling, specializing in the Person-Centered Approach. With a deep commitment to supporting individuals in their emotional and psychological well-being, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their feelings, challenges, and personal growth. I work with disabled and fully able clients and have commitment to offering therapy which is accessible and productive.

I know from personal experience that navigating Chronic Illness is complex and oftentimes isolating, which is why I have a passionate commitment to supporting other disabled and ill people, who face similar challenges. As a neurodivergent woman, I know the difficulties of living a structured and fulfilling life in the modern world. I've learned many techniques for both managing ADHD and thriving with it. I hold a special interest in the intersection of chronic illness and neurodivergence, and offer tailored therapeutic support for these conditions, walking alongside clients on their healing journey, offering professional guidance with warmth, care, and understanding.

I work with clients of all backgrounds, and have a commitment to working ethically with all issues within my training and experience level. I am a firm believer that by understanding yourself and your needs more, you can begin to unlock your potential and be who you were always meant to be. I am dedicated to empowering clients to live fulfilling lives while respecting unique needs and perspectives.

Our Approach

At Unwinding Minds, we specialize in a range of practice areas to address the diverse needs of our clients. Our approach is tailored to provide comprehensive support and treatment for various mental health conditions.

01

Neurodiversity and Mental Health

We offer comprehensive services to support you with big and difficult emotions. When we have assessed you and ensured our service is right for you, we start by creating a plan together to evaluate the support you may need. We specialize in providing counseling for individuals with neurodiverse conditions, offering understanding and support for their unique mental health needs.

02

Our adult psychotherapy services are designed to help individuals navigate life's challenges, manage stress, and improve their overall well-being. We focus predominantly on serving the disabled community, however we also welcome full-able clients to join us for our counselling services. We regret that we currently cannot provide services for children and adolescents.

03

Holistic Support for the Chronically Ill

We facilitate group support through the Chronic Health Club. This group provides the opportunity for new friendships, guided talks and a listening ear, as you are going through the unique emotional and psychological challenges associated with Chronic Illness and Disability. Pre-diagnosis patients are welcomed.

04

Flexible Session Formats

We offer counselling services through both Telephone and Online, to ensure that clients have the flexibility and accessibility needed to get support.

05

Peer Support Group

This upcoming initiative seeks to support and serve the professional community by offering group peer support to trainee and qualified counsellors. Counsellling can be a lonely profession, so we want to make sure you have a community to reach out to.

06

Free Resources and Subscriber-Only Resources

We have created resources here on our website and on our YouTube Chanel, Unwinding Minds, to support the wider community with mental health problems. This means that even if you can't currently access counselling, you can still find support.
